Electral law review 13 Oct 09 Draft Election Bill 2009 and Draft ECK Bill 2009 have been ready since early 2009 but the technical working commitee agreed to pend further work on them until the IIEC could settle down,understand them and take ownership. Therefore, the workshop that will take place in Mombasa from 14th -17th October is principally for the IIEC and some very critical actors like the parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs and the judiciary to make focused and structured comments and inputs to the two draft Bills before final validation as a step before they are introduced to Parliament for debate, hopefully before the recess in December 2009.
